Muñiz founded Muñiz Engineering, Inc. (MEI)
in 1992 to provide engineering and technical service contracting
work to government entities and private sector businesses.
With one full-time and one half-time employee at his side,
he made  MEI
stand out from the competition by focusing on high-quality,
best-value, ethically based support.
In October, 2005 the company
changed its name to MEI Technologies in order to reflect the
expanding capabilities of the corporation. The company is
proud that the name, MEI Technologies, reflects the growth
from a small engineering company to a company with far greater
capabilities and services in the areas of system design analysis
and development, systems engineering and integration, payload
integration and technical services, while maintaining our
values of honesty, integrity and fairness. The new tagline,
Merging Excellence & Innovation, captures the spirit of
our employees and Ed’s relentless commitment to progress
and performance.
Today, MEI boasts an employee
base of more than 650 individuals, including highly experienced
engineering and technology professionals. These experts take
time to individually examine a client’s need in depth,
visualize solutions and utilize technology to deliver an innovative
solution that far exceeds client expectations. MEI is a small
disadvantage business (SDB), veteran owned small business
(VOSB), and service disabled veteran owned small business
